You can tell it’s almost fall because my Pinterest feed is filling up with fall decor featuring pumpkins and leaves. I’m not complaining! Fall is a favorite of mine but we’ve had such a great summer here at the homestead I think it’s a little bittersweet for me this year.
But not Alex. She loves everything pumpkin and is ready for fall. I swear that girl would knock me down and step on my back to get to a pumpkin spice latte. When Alex was growing up we really enjoyed all the fall activities – fall festivals, bonfires, carving pumpkins, caramel apples, apple cider. You name it and we probably did it. Now that she’s grown with little ones of her own we’ll be doing it all over again with a new generation.
Aislynn and I already started on the front porch last week. We jumped the gun a little bit because technically it was still August but I saw mums for sale. That was enough for me. She got to plant flowers and use the hose so it was enough for her too. 😀
It’s still warm here now so I’ll probably hold off on the actual pumpkins until it starts to cool down. Although Alex and I were out shopping the other day and saw fake pumpkins that you could carve?? Weird.
Just because it’s too early for pumpkins doesn’t mean it’s too early for other decorations!
Fall Decor You Need Right Now
Nothing says fall to me like the scents of apple, cinnamon, and orange. I can’t wait to try this super simple simmer pot and get those feel-good smells going through the house.
These pumpkins are so cute I can’t even stand it. I just can’t.
One of the things you always see on the fall craft festival circuit are wood signs and I love them! I found this one on Etsy and it’s adorable!
What is it about mason jars that make them so darn cute? Fall decor just isn’t complete without them. This is a great tutorial for fall mason jars.
What a great idea for using up scrap 2×4’s! I have so many in the garage because I refuse to part with them “just in case I need them”. Bah.
I’ve seen these mason jar lid pumpkins quite a bit lately. You could paint them any color really and they’d be just as cute.
I like the look of white pumpkins. I may have to try to incorporate that this year into my decorating scheme. This entire pumpkin bucket is so cute but that bucket is to die for!
This one goes under the heading of “Why didn’t I think of that?”
I can’t wait to try this one out! I’ll bet this smells amazing when the candles are lit and there’s a little heat under the cinnamon sticks.
And last but not least are these charming fall luminaries. I’m picturing these all lit up on the front porch surrounded by some pumpkins and mums.
I don’t know about you but my head is full of ideas after all that. I’m mentally making a to-do list, not just for fall decor but for all the things I want to do this fall!
Yep, this is just what I needed to get me in the fall spirit.
